Kira Hoffelmeyer
Kira Hoffelmeyer is an accomplished media professional currently serving as the Assistant News Director at KSL NewsRadio. With a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oregon, Kira has over eight years of experience in both online and radio journalism. Her career has been marked by roles such as producer, writer, reporter, anchor and editor for various media outlets, including The Park Record Newspaper, Emerald Media Group, and KLCC.
Kira is known for her dynamic and engaging approach to news production, often described as a “pint-sized firecracker” with a “sometimes laughy, bubbly” demeanor. Her passion for delivering high-quality content matches her commitment to empowering her team and innovating the news delivery process. Since joining KSL NewsRadio in 2016, Kira has progressed from part-time roles to becoming the youngest-ever Executive Producer of Jeff Caplan’s Afternoon News. Now, she leads the station’s digital-first initiatives while managing daily newsroom operations.
While she’s a Murrow-winning journalist in broadcast, Kira is also recognized for her skills in online journalism, newsroom management, newsgathering, and social media. Her love for the Wasatch Mountains and Southern Utah’s red rocks brought her back to Utah, where she continues to make significant contributions to the media landscape.
