Deer Valley to host its first Pride event, Mountain Pride Day on June 30

PARK CITY, Utah — Deer Valley Resort announced that it will host its first Pride festival on June 30. The resort is calling it Mountain Pride Day.
A press release from the resort said the celebration will be held at the Deer Valley’s Silver Lake lawn. It is located mid-mountain, near the resort’s Silver Lake Lodge.
“Mountain Pride Day is an open event designed to foster togetherness and support for the LGBTQ+ community,” said the press release.

There will be a number of activities that Mountain Pride Day visitors can take part in.
According to the press release, local LGBTQ+ nonprofits will be at the event. Visitors can engage with them and learn about how their impact on the community.
DJ Bentley will also provide live music. No performance time was provided in the press release.
Secondly, free yoga will be hosted on the Silver Lake Lawn at 10:30 a.m. Enlighten Wellness of Park City will be hosting the session. Guests must bring their own mat.
Guests are also welcome to mountain bike and hike on the day of the event. The press release said that the resort will perform normal summer operations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Additionally, Deer Valley said that it will donate 30% of its Mountain Pride Day lift ticket sales to Summit Pride.
Summit Pride, formerly known as the Park City LGBTQ+ Taskforce, “works to sustain and amplify LGBTQ+ inclusivity,” per the press release.
Finally, there will be a group Pride Ride down the Holy Roller mountain bike trail at 1:30 p.m. The trail begins at the top the Sterling Express Chairlift.
