SALT LAKE CITY — Sen. Mitt Romney pushed back at the Budget Committee on Tuesday during a hearing about President Joe Biden’s budget proposal. Romney said Democrats and Republicans needed to work together to build legislation that will pass.

Romney’s week isn’t solely focused on the budget proposal.

On Thursday, he’ll attend a hearing called “A Nation on Fire: Responding to the Increasing Wildfire Threat.”

The senator joined KSL NewsRadio’s Inside Sources with Boyd Matheson to discuss.

Romney doesn’t think a proposed TikTok ban will have any trouble in the Senate after it got House approval today.

He tells Inside Sources host Boyd Matheson, the concern goes beyond spying on Americans. He worries China could use TikTok the way they did in the latest elections in Taiwan.

The proposal would require TikTok to sell to stay in operation.

“The Chinese Communist Party was clearly manipulating what people saw — suggesting a whole series of things that America was not going to stand up to defend Taiwan,” said Romney on KSL NewsRadio. “So they’re able to use TikTok for propaganda.”

Sen. Mike Lee thinks the bill is a mess and plans to vote no.

Inside Sources with Boyd Matheson can be heard weekdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
