PROVO, Utah — Two people have died after police say the vehicle they were in veered off the Kyhv Peak roadway and rolled down a steep embankment on Saturday.
Lt. Josh Chappel with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said officers received calls at 10 p.m. about a traffic incident with injuries.
When police arrived at Kyhv Peak Road, Chappel said officers found a vehicle had veered off of the roadway and came to a stop near the Provo Shooting Sports Park.
“Our condolences and our thoughts go out to the family members of those involved,” Chappel said.
Based on preliminary information, Chappel said he thinks the vehicle may have been traveling on the asphalt section of the road. As of Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office does not know why the vehicle went off of the roadway.
