Seven people uninjured after boat fire on Utah Lake

UTAH COUNTY — A boat caught fire on Utah Lake Monday afternoon, but the seven people onboard were able to escape uninjured.
A call came into the Utah County Sheriff’s Office at around 2 p.m., according to Sgt. Dallin Turner.
All of the individuals on the boat had life jackets on. State Park authorities as well as a citizen on their own personal wave runner came out to help bring them back to shore.
The fire is now completely out. The boat is beached and will be left overnight to let it cool down before it’s hauled away Tuesday, Turner said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
