Fuel spill causes Spanish Fork Canyon closure

SPANISH FORK, Utah — A double semi-truck crash spilled thousands of gallons of fuel in Spanish Fork Canyon Sunday evening, causing the Canyon’s closure.

Utah Highway Patrol’s Corporal Haley Scheer says a semi-truck rolled over on U.S. Highway 6 near the Canyon, minorly injuring one person. The rollover caused a fuel spill equating to 6,000 gallons. Just after 5 p.m. Sunday, the Utah Department of Public Safety said the Canyon would be closed for five hours for cleanup.
Traffic is being diverted to U.S. 89.
